In loving memory of Colin Hall, this charity event helps to raise money for Dementia UK and Macmillan Cancer Support
A great success in both 2024 and 2025, we have raised £4447.50 for Dementia UK and Macmillan Cancer Support in the memory of Colin Hall to date!
The event will consist of two qualifying games at trio pace. The top 16 will advance to a seeded match play knockout. This is a handicap event open to all bowlers with an average over 9 games at Hollywood Bowl Crawley.
The past champions are Steve Flynn (2024) and Robert Metcalfe (2025). Who will take home the trophy this season?

Colin Hall Memorial Cup 2026
The Colin Hall Memorial Cup 2026 was another hugely enjoyable event, bringing together bowlers, supporters and spectators to raise money for our chosen charities, Dementia UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
This year, 37 bowlers competed for the prestigious trophy. The competition began with two qualifying games, after which the top 16 athletes progressed into the knockout stages. Round by round, the field narrowed until only two competitors remained to contest the 2026 final: Mark Cox and Daren Knightsbridge.
The final proved to be a thrilling encounter. With both players performing well, the match remained incredibly close throughout and ultimately came down to the all-important 10th frame.
Mark stepped up first and finished strongly with a 7 spare followed by a strike, recording a score of 181 scratch (212 handicap). Daren knew exactly what he needed. After throwing a 9 with his first ball of the 10th frame and converting the spare, he required a 9 count to force a draw or a strike to claim victory outright.
As the crowd watched on, the tension was almost unbearable. Every shot was met with gasps and nervous anticipation. Daren delivered when it mattered, knocking down 9 pins to level the scores and force a dramatic one-ball roll-off.
Mark went first in the roll-off and posted a respectable 8 pins, leaving the door open. The pressure then shifted to Daren. Could he find the 9 count, or perhaps even a strike, to secure the title?
Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. The pins refused to fall in his favour, and his shot toppled only 7 pins.
That result meant Mark Cox was crowned the 2026 Colin Hall Memorial Cup Champion, following one of the most exciting finishes in the tournament's history.
Congratulations to Mark on his victory, and a huge thank you to all 37 competitors, supporters, volunteers and spectators whose participation helped make the event another successful fundraiser for Dementia UK and Macmillan Cancer Support.
